Alternatives to AirPlay when casting to third party devices

  • apart from the music app that starts popping around every time I try to play something, the quality of sound through Airplay only matches the one of the AAC Bluetooth. Hence, is there a way, wired or not, to send the sound from an apple computer into a Blue Sound Node 130 other way than through Airplay? The way this ecosystem treats sound is a shame.

Strange that the top-notch Apple Bluetooth has interferences while a poor Samsung phone outperforms it even on SBC. The issue is AAC and the refusal to use anything else. Some might think everything it's designed to sabotage non-Apple devices.

You appear to have already decided, so by all means use the Samsung gear, as that is outperforming the Apple configuration.

I've noticed no issues locally, but streaming AAC to Bluesound gear isn't typical here, nor are high-end component hardware or speakers in use.
