How to save screen recording on ipad to icloud storage instead on local ipad storage

I am doing a screen recording of a class lecture, but my ipad indicates iPad storage is full. Yet I do have iCloud storage with 2T capacity, and my iCloud is connected on my iPad. I would like to know how to make sure the screen recording is saved to iCloud instead of to local iPad storage.

Is it a requirement that there's available local iPad storage for a screen recording on iPad to be possible, even when it's connected to iCloud storage?

Thank you.

Hello TurtleBlueLu,

To answer your questions directly, yes, you need to have space on your device to save data before it can be synced or moved to iCloud. iCloud storage doesn't replace device storage but supplements it. For example, when Optimize Storage is turned on, full-resolution photos and videos are stored in iCloud, and, when needed, space-saving copies are stored on your device. If you'd like to enable Optimized Storage, you may find these steps useful:

Get started with iCloud Photos:
1. Tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos.
2. Tap Sync this iPad. In iPadOS 15 or earlier, tap to turn on iCloud Photos.
3. Select Optimize iPad Storage to save space on your device.

Thanks.
