How can I get rid of the read receipts on the new 16.3/16.4 updates, I run a business and sometimes don’t reply to customers straight away. This is a real problem which I’ve highlighted with apple… still no bug fix!!!!

settings -message - send read receipt - OFF. If that is off and you see the read receipt that means the recipient has it enable on their end and you can't control that.

That makes no sense, this issue only started after I updated from iOS 16.1, my read receipts are off, so are my business partner and he tells me/shows me my read receipts are on, he doesn’t have this enabled, and Ives also gone through all the personal settings for each contact
How can I get rid of the read receipts on iPhone since last update?
