Ventura 13.3 MacBook Pro Screen Saver No Longer Populating in System Preferences

MacBook Pro recently began performing a shut down while it was in an idle state. When I access the System Preferences "Screen Saver" there are no selections. It is as if the screen saver application/code (I am not in IT) has been deleted from the computer. I have updated the Ventura to 13.3. Any suggestions on what the......is going on and how I may fix it?

Hi msterperry,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities about issues with your Mac.

Please try a normal restart: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

If that doesn't help, safe mode can correct disk issues. Log in to safe mode and also check if the issue is also occurring there, or not. If not, restart, and see if it goes away in normal mode also or comes back. How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

If it also occurring in safe mode, creating a new unmodified test user and checking in there will also help us know if it's system wide, or isolated to your account. Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support

Reach back out, let us know if it's working properly in safe mode or not, or if it's also occurring in a test user or not. This will help us determine the next steps.

Cheers.
