Ventura 13.3 broke my screensaver--

I am seeing the same problem in two different M1 MacBook Pros (one a work machine) since 13.3. Whenever they are connected to an external monitor, it was refusing to show photos on that monitor. This happens with any of the photo-display screensavers that I tried (flip-up, Ken Burns. Photo Mobile, Photo Wall etc).
By experimenting a bit, I discovered that whichever monitor is the designated the “Main Display” will refuse to show photos, and show the “no photos“ message. The clock, however, appears just fine on that monitor, when that option is enabled. The “Extended Display” shows photos just fine, even when switched to the other monitor.
I was able to work around the problem by changing the refresh rate of the MacBook ”Built-in Display” to anything other than”ProMotion.”
System Settings > Displays > Built-in Display > Refresh rate > [select something other than ProMotion]
The same happens to me. It worked fine with three monitors ( one main, one 4K & one 2K connect via type-C cables ) from all previous versions. After upgrading to 13.3.1, it broke and now only work with 2 monitors, no more
I just want to add that I have this screensaver problem also since upgrading to 13.3 on my Mac Studio.
I use Heiko Kretschmer's Flying Toasters screensaver and I've only seen it appear on my "Extended Display" since the update - not on my Main Display.
I have the same issue. I use my MacBook Pro screen closed and I only use another large monitor. the screensaver never comes up. It runs like the screensaver and the power managements are all turned off.
No, the screensaver preview has always showed just one screen in the past. It is clearly not the problem.

Clearly a problem with the screen saver parameters, while Background and Screens parameters shows the
multiple displays I use, the Screen saver show only one display like if it is ignoring all the displays... and any photos related screen savers won't work.

Why does this thread keep going? Doesn't anyone read the thread?
People who are not regulars in the forum generally seem to end up in a thread as the result of an internet search. They read the original post and then reply. So, no, frequently, they don't read the entirety of the thread. Not ideal, I agree.
Just chiming in that I'm having the same issue. I just updated to 13.3.1. And along with several other issues, I'm seeing my screen saver photos ONLY on my external monitor, not on my desktop iMac's screen. Up until this update, I would see them on both monitors.

Apple do you read this? So many people are upset about this. Please fix asap.
The only Apple employees who read here are the Hosts and they only do so to make sure that no rules have been broken. They do not read for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let Apple know your thoughts here:
Hi, not sure if someone else noticed that it is not a permanent error but intermittent.
I've been using the amazing Matrix screensaver https://github.com/monroewilliams/MatrixDownload/issues/11#issuecomment-1531082185 and when clicking on Preview many times, it happened approximately one in 10 attempts the screensaver engine worked fine.
I also had the screensaver kicking in properly once in many wrong cases (when it appears only on the external in the size of my laptop display).
same here 3 monitors eizo and 2x lg ultrafine 5k - behaves different.
for me the bug started to appear after the update to 13.3.1 and also 13.3.1 a has it.
im really sad.
i loved my screensaverpictures :-(
I’ve been using Mac for almost 30 years and this is the first time I hear about this. Yes perhaps with a third-party app, but the stock screensaver was only one-for-all. I though first you’re referring to “different screens of one saver” (like different words in word-of-a-day saver) which is also partially broken but I’ve never seen two different savers on two screens.
I think you might be mixing this up with the wallpapers controls, which do provide separate selections for each screen. Pretty sure the screen saver has never done this, as I've wanted such a capability for a very long time.
Just updated to Ventura 13.4 and the ability to access photos as a screen saver in the Photos Library is gone. I still am able to use them as wallpaper with the file listed as "**". I switched to an M1 iMac a couple weeks ago and in Ventura 13.1.1(a) was able to access the Photo Library on my second screen after multiple attempts. Not happy!!!
Thus far, from what I've been able to observe, Heiko Kretschmer's Flying Toasters Screensaver appears to be working normally across multiple monitors as well. Very happy with this last update if it has resolved the issue for good.
I have Ventura 13.4 on a 2022 27 inch iMac. Recently, the login screen stopped showing my desktop wallpaper. Now in addition to that it has stopped my screensaver and is taking me to the log in screen like I just booted the system. I have run diagnostics, run anti virus, and malware, I have reinstalled OS and Clean installed OS and it is still doing the same thing. What do I need to do to get this fixed?
I have the same problem, except that on my external monitor, the screen saver works perfectly. iMac screen is black but secondary screen has my photos floating by.
