Left Applewatch at home but recorded data on Health app - how can it transfer to apple watch?

HI there

I left my Apples phone at home while away a few nights accidently - while away my phone recorded walking etc data but now having come home and put my watch back on, even when opening the apps the data has not been pulled from the phone to the watch.....is this possible?

Can anyone guide me on this? I am a completed tech disaster and do not want to delete any data off anything but a wee bit annoying they are not interoperable from a data perspective....may be they are? But i cannnot find guidance anywhere. So for example - my phone today currently has recorded 3.5kms while my watch .45kms....but obviously i'd like the larger amount recorded.

Help - anyone!!

Thanks so much

Not sure how phone can record walking if you left it at home. Did you really mean you left the Watch at home?

If it is paired then the data in the Health app on the phone should go to the phone's Fitness app then sync with the Watch Activity app

If it hasn't then

Check "Health" is turned on in iPhone Settings, [your name], iCloud, (show all) -Do not turn it off!

First force restart the Watch

i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

Then, although it may seem irrelevant, while it is restarting Force Restart the paired iphone   Force restart iPhone – Apple Support

Check it after a few hours.

If it is still misbehaving... and if it really was the watch you left at home, not the phone, you can Unpair and set up again.

(If you actually left the phone at home and took the Watch than you might lose that data from the watch if you unpair)

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch – Apple Support

and then set up - takes about 20 minutes

Thanks still looking for support on this - the apps should be interoperable - you can see the fitness app within the health app, so should fully share data i would think.

You can let Apple know your thoughts on the matter here:

So wider community if you know if it is interoperable, and what to do if it is not aligned if you leave either you phone or watch at home and there is an unalignment, please let me know. I'm sure this will happen again so would be grateful for the knowledge.

No, you cannot transfer data from the Health app to the Watch.

HI thanks for this.

Just to clarify - watch left at home but phone with me. Phone has recorded kms in the health (not fitness) app on my phone. The phone health app reads now 3.3kms for the day while the fitness app on my phone reads 0.67kms (the same as my watch).

Normally the health and fitness app on my phone read the same, so previously assumed they were linked - and just thought when i came home they would link again and align data.

Everything is paired in settings.

On basis above should i do the hard restart you suggest?

Thanks for your help with this.
