iPhone 14 Pro Max gets stuck while I’m on a call

Hello, went from a an 11 to a 14 pro max. I hate it, it gets stuck while I’m on a call. The screen freezes and the call volume while on a Call is so Loud despite lowering the volume while on the call. I’ve done everything to adjust. The freezing only clears up when i hang up the call. I regret getting this phone! For the price i paid for it, i would expect a solid working phone. Any one else having issues with the 14 pro max?

Hey Bonny777,

Were you able to go through the steps in the article and also make sure the device is up-to-date. The article addresses the issue you're experiencing with the iPhone becoming unresponsive during a call. Updating the iPhone ensures all security updates and fixes are installed.

Since you're only experiencing this issue when you're on a call, make sure you're getting a good signal during the call. The issue could be network related. Also, make sure that the carrier settings are up-to-date.

"Carrier settings updates let your carrier provider update carrier network and related settings to improve cellular network connectivity and performance." To check for updates, follow those the steps below or in this article: Manually update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. "Make sure that your device is connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network.
  2. Tap Settings > General > About.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install your carrier update.

If you set up a new eSIM or insert a new SIM card into your iPhone or iPad, you might need to download the carrier settings for your new carrier."

In regards to the volume during a call, are you lowering the volume by using the volume buttons or are you going into Settings > Sounds (or Sounds & Haptics)> Ringtone and Alert Volume? If "Change with Buttons" is disabled, enable it, and try lowering the volume during your next call.

Also, test using the speakerphone and headphones if available. This will help further isolate the volume issue.

Hope this helps. Take care.

Hello Bonny777,

We'd be happy to get you headed in the right direction. If your iPhone is running slow, we recommend trying to resolve the issue by following the steps here: If your iPhone or iPad is running slow - Apple Support

In addition, we recommend creating a backup to avoid data loss and keeping your iPhone up to date. You can do that by following the steps here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

You may find these steps helpful:

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

Thanks.
