iTunes is claiming i need to update but it is the latest version.

Using iTunes on a windows 11 computer. Till today all was good, want to update 16.4 I am always using iTunes update vs OTA, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version from the apple site 12.12.7, iTunes keeps giving the error that I need to update to the latest itunes to able install IOS16.4continue. Went to help and checked for updates in the iTunes program. Got the notification that the program is up to date.

Any ideas?

Hi Bryan it was not about how to update I am cloud systems engineer and very well know how to update itunes. Weird thing is ios 16.4 released sooner than itunes 12.12.8 so thats why 12.12.7 keep saying you need to have latest version to be able update your iphone to 16.4 ios. Yesterday when it was finally released all fixed. So it is reasonable release itunes update prior ios updates.

Perhaps there's been a glitch, or it simply hasn't been available up to now.

I've just downloaded iTunes 12.12.8.2, so I suggest that you try again.
