Headphones not working without silent mode.

Today, all of the sudden my earbuds stopped working when silent mode was turned off. This had never happened to me before and I can’t seem to fix it by turning off bluetooth and turning it back on. Whenever silent mode is off, the audio on my phone goes through the phone speakers and not my headphones. This is only solved when I turn on silent mode, and when I do while watching the video, the buttons that change the volume start changing whether silent mode is on or off. When no bluetooth devices are connected and I turn on silent mode, the audio stops playing.My headphones work perfectly fine on all other devices and when I connected my other headphones to my phone, the same problem occurred. Can anyone help me with this?
