Iphone earphones require bluetooth to function and will beep constantly when phone is not in use.

The earphones came with the box for an iphone 13 pro. I am using it on an iphone 13, IOS16.

When I plug in the "wired" earphones, a pop up asks me to open my lock screen and press 'connect'. Which turns on my bluetooth and connects the headphones through bluetooth. It appears with the name "Lightening" in my bluetooth settings. When I turn off the bluetooth it stops working.

One time I plugged in the earphones to my phone and it connected to a different device using bluetooth.

Furthermore, whenever I pause the music with my screen turned off, the earphones will beep constantly in a positively earraping manner. Can't believe this is an official product.

DO NOT direct me to the standard "how to fix your earphones" resource page like in this 'helpful' answer.

Oh ffs, apparently my father who gave it to me doesn't actually remember where he got it from.

Upon further inspection I'm pretty sure this piece of crap is a fake.
