In my Mail software the "From" field does not show the sender. For example it shows "Walmart.com" which is not an email address.
I have to click on on it to see the sender, and when I do it shows ***@***.cgourmetchile.cl Why is that? Why do I have to click on it to see the sender. Can't I configure it to show the sender, instead of whatever these fake names are?

Those emails are not from Walmart, as you've guessed.
The sender is using "spoofed" email addresses to get them looks when they show up in your email box.
There is no way to remove the fake names. All you can do is manage those emails as junk or spam.
Some veteran users will use SpamSieve from C-command Software to assist with that chore.
Although there really is a Walmart Chile, if you live outside of Chile, or have not ordered anything online from Walmart, then this should peg your spoofing meter. If you do live in Chile and have ordered something online from Walmart there, ask them what their legitimate From mail header address should read, and if they have a security organization that would be interested in these emails that you have received.

Actually there is no "spoof" in the e-mail that I can tell. It likely is a real email address : I am not in Chile, have never been there or ordered anything from there.
The issue is the email address is invisible in the Mail program in-box view. The user has to click on the "fake name" to see the email address.
What is the use of the fake names anyway, and why would Apple want us to see them, instead of the actual e-mail address? I don't understand the software programmer's mindset here.
I don't user the Apple Mail program but accidentally clicked it and thought I'd try it out. Unless I can configure it to show me e-mail addresses of senders, I'll continue to pass on using it for my e-mail.
