How do I change the international dialling access code on iPhone 12
I have moved from Australia to UK and changed my country in the Apple Store settings. When texting an international number, the phone translates the ‘+’ in front of the country code to ‘0011’ which is the Australian international dialling code. Even when I delete a contact and re enter it as 00 [the correct international dialling access in the UK )instead of ‘+’, when I send a text it converts it back to ‘+’ and then tries to send it to 0011 plus the country code. This means I can’t send international texts at all.
this happened last time I came to the UK and seemed to be solved by entering the phone numbers manually in contact with 00 instead of plus but this no longer works, it just converts the 00 back to a + when sending the text which then translated that to 0011!
my phone was purchased in Australia as I lived there . There must be a way round this!
