Split a large iMovie project into three smaller ones

I'd like to take a completed iMovie project and split it into three separate smaller ones. It's too long as one project and I'd like to present it to the person I made it for in three completely separate parts (three projects). I don't want to have to re-do the editing, trimming, etc. that I've already done to it, but rather take a chunk and move it to a separate project as is. And then do it again with another section. Can someone tell me how I would do this? Thank you.

There are a couple of ways to do this.

I think that the easiest way is to create a duplicate project (call it Part 1) and then, working with the duplicate, delete the clips in the second 2/3 of the project. That will leave you the clips at the beginning of the project that comprise Part 1. Then create a new duplicate project from the original project (call it Part 2). Delete the clips in the first and last thirds of the project, to leave you with the clips in the middle that form Part 2. Then create another duplicate (Part 3) and delete the clips in the first 2/3 of the project to leave you with the clips that form Part 3.

You can create a duplicate of a project by going to the projects browser screen, where your projects are displayed as icons. Move your cursor over the icon of your project and a little circle with dots in it will appear to the right of the title. Click on the circle and, from the drop down menu that appears, click on Duplicate Project.

Another way is to create a new project (call it Part 1). Then go back to your original project and select the clips that you want to be in Part 1 of the project, and then Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste them into the newly created project. Your edits will carry over. Create another new project and copy over the clips that you want in Part 2. Repeat for Part 3.

You can select clips in a group by selecting the first clip and then Shift-clicking on the last clip. All clips in between will be selected.
