Adding a clip to the timeline and all clips/layers move as well

How do I add a clip to the timeline and all the clips/layers move as well? When I add a clip all my audio components and layers don't move. I want to insert a clip and have everything else move down as well.

Everything not in the primary storyline is connected to something in the primary - as indicated by these vertical "stems":

You have a secondary storyline, where are adding this "Pickleball" clip.

A secondary storyline is magnetic, like the primary, but the rest of the clips

are connected to the primary, not the secondary.

Perhaps you want to reorganize your timeline in a different way - so as to make what is now a secondary

storyline your primary.

This may not be too hard to do, but for safety, start by doing this:

0 - Make a snapshot of the project, so you can return to the present point if things go out of hand: to do that, select the project in the browser, control-click, Snapshot Project.

1 - Select all the audio clips in the primary storyline, and press Command-Option-UpArrow to "lift from storyline".

This will make them connected clips, and put a gap clip (essentially a slug or placeholder, an "empty" clip) in the primary

2 - Select the secondary storyline and press Command-Option-DownArrow to "Overwrite to Primary Storyline".

Now those clips that were in the secondary are on the primary.

The only thing you need to consider now is where are each of the connection points.

Anything that is connected to a place after the insertion point will shift automatically.

Thanks for the reply Luis!

I want to essentially insert this clip (pickleball den ad) and everything else(all layers and audio components) move down the timeline with it. When I add this clip, all the layers still stay in the same timeframe....even if I added the clip twice to both the storyline and above the story line...the layers and audio still dont move down with it
