Moving data from one sheet to another

Hello everyone.

I enter tasks in a spreadsheet. Fast. Like on the go. Is there a way to have these automatically moved (and after move erased from the initial spreadsheet) to a dedicated spreadsheet based on some criteria, like: due date, project....

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If by 'spreadsheet" you are using the standard Numbers technology to mean document then the answer is no, there is no way to automatically move data from one document to another, only a semi-automatic way involving a script.

If by 'spreadsheet' you mean table, then there are ways to move data from one table to another within the same document even if the tables are in different sheets in the document.

However, having more information about your use case and the structure of your documents and the tables within them would help. Could you post screenshots? shift-command-4, drag crosshairs to select area, release, start new post here and use the mountains-and-moon 'Image insertion' icon beneath the compose window to include the screenshot image from the Desktop.

If I were using Numbers for this I would keep all tasks in one table and apply filters (and use the Categories functionality) to see different subsets. You might want to consider those approaches.

However, for task tracking and "database-type" work like this, I believe Notion is a better choice than Numbers, which is a good at other things.

Apologies SG, yes, I meant moving data inside of a single document, from one table to another while each of the tables is on a separate sheet.

I'm trying to build a simple "second brain". I tried Notion, but seemed too complex and since I have been using Numbers for quite some time, it looked like something not too complex might be possible here. Working my way through functions and formulas and that's where I thought I'd ask. ;–))
