Left AirPod Disconnects When Not Playing Audio

My left AirPod Pro disconnects when no audio is played through it for a period of time (30 seconds - several minutes) and when I go to play audio through it again, I can only hear it through my right one. Noise cancelling still works fine, but sound is not played and the button on it doesn't work. I can fix it temporarily by placing it back in the case and holding the case button, but this is not something I can always do (i.e. cycling). The problem still persists after months, several factory resets and IOS updates. Any help is appreciated!

Hello cmpatrick1,

We'd be happy to get you headed in the right direction. To resolve this issue we recommend following the steps here: If your left or right AirPod isn't working - Apple Support

We think you'll find these steps helpful:

If there's no sound in one AirPod
1. Make sure that your charging case is fully charged.
2. Place both AirPods in your charging case and let them charge for 30 seconds.
3. Open the charging case near your iPhone or iPad.
4. Check the charge status on your iPhone or iPad to make sure that each AirPod is charging .
5. Put both AirPods in your ears.
6. Play audio to test both AirPods.
7. If an AirPod still isn't working, reset your AirPods or contact Apple Support.

Thanks.
