After upgrading to ios 16.4 , homepods have frequently stopped playing music. Or only playing on one of my 7 homepods.

After upgrading to ios 16.4 and HomePods to 16.4, homepods have frequently stopped playing music. Or only playing on one of my 7 homepods. Also noticed that while playing , it takes longer for the homepods in a stereo pair to start the next song. As if they are buffering while other homepods have already started playing.I have rebooted all network equipment in the house and the homepods were rebooted after the upgrade.

I have done everything possible to correct this issue.

Reset all homepods.

reset all wifi devices.

Turned off all Music/Media settings in Homepods and Home App. And turned them back on.

Disabled Lossless Audio, Dolby Atmos and even animate album art and left disabled.

Signed out and back in to Apple ID.

Removed all Homepods from Home app and re-added them.

And I even Went as far as removing my entire Home from Home app.

This was PAINFUL! Having to re-add all lights, switches, plugs and homepods.

Recreated all automations and shortcuts.

Yet today it stopped playing after exactly 3 hours! Not crashing or stopping in the middle of a song.

It just finished the last song it wanted to play and then went silent.

And now it just stopped playing again after about an hour. Just finished another song and did not play the next.

I accidentally clicked helpful. This is not helpful at all. I have contacted customer support and now I am waiting for a call back from a supervisor. Calling this morning and going through the exact same steps as the other user dasmna have tried and my home system has only gotten less responsive. Currently it will not play anything on more than one speaker. In the home kit it will say "playing" at the top but the controls are greyed out and it says "not playing" all simultaneously. The wifi signal waivers between strong and showing an exclamation point. The update literally broke the system. Calling will not help. Apple can you please provide real support?
