Do I have to have a SIM card in my Ipad Air to make it work?

I bought something and received a free Ipad Air that has been refurbished. It keeps saying there is no sim card installed. Do I have to have a SIM card to make it work?

You don't need to have a SIM. The Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad models allow you to have internet access if you don't have Wi-Fi but you can use them without a SIM in the same way that you would use a Wi-Fi only iPad.

You can get the SIM warning to stop by going to Settings > Airplane Mode and turning that on. Leave that on and then go to Settings Wi-Fi and turn Wi-FI on and Settings Bluetooth and turn that on.
