Family share photos and files -

My husband was recently added to his own apple ID on our family share plan. All of our info is shared however he can't access any photos or files from before he was added to the family plan. Is there a way to grant him access? There are files his has saved under my appleID he needs to be able to have regular access.

iPhone SE, iOS 13

Apple IDs are personal, and should never be shared. Files and photos in iCloud for one Apple ID are not shared with others directly. You are not supposed to be able to access files and photos from others on Family sharing except the ones you manually add to the shared album.

You can add photos to the Family shared album, so he can access them:

click here ➜ How to use iCloud Shared Photo Library - Apple Support

You can directly share files in iCloud with him, but this is not done through family sharing.

click here ➜ Share files and folders in iCloud Drive on iCloud.com - Apple Support
