If you get a new phone and you did not update it will u get it updated when you get your new iPhone ?

Yes. You can update your iPhone at any time IF an update is available for it.

For example, if you get an iPhone 8 with iOS 15 installed on it, then you can update it to iOS 16 after you get it.
