iOS 16 seems strange to have to take our apps out in order to update. For decades I kept auto updates. How can the latest be done without guessing if there will be room for putting our apps back in and not having to pay more money for even more storage?

If you have purchased an App the app remains valid even after you delete it and reinstall it. The condition is to use the same Apple ID.


So irrespective of the app removal the access remains with the Apple ID on all other devices which use the same Apple ID.
