apps running on an older OS

Hi.

I have several older apps that will only run on High Sierra or older. They are vital to our small business model and they can't be updated because the manufacturer no longer supports them. Our main box is a late 2012 Mac Mini and it can't be upgraded for the same reason. As a result we can't upgrade Safari and have to bounce between several browsers. Many of the newer applications we use will not support High Sierra. Is there a way I can continue to use our older Mac and OS, continue to utilize our older apps and still run the

newer apps without having to bounce around between Safari and Chrome??

Safari and Chrome are web browsers they don't run apps at all, they open websites, so not sure exactly what it is you are doing with apps and the browsers specifically.

If your newer Apps don't support High Sierra, no amount of bouncing between browsers will let them run on High Sierra.

If you cannot update the Mac to run the new apps, then not sure what other options you expect there to be?

You can get a newer Mac to run the new Apps, and leave the old Mac for the old apps.

Otherwise, at some point, you may need to consider alternatives to the apps you need to run that will work on a newer Mac with a newer OS. At some point running such old apps and old OS on such an old Mac will stop being practical or even possible at all.

You may need to bite the proverbial bullet, and start considering an update plan while you can still use the old Mac and the old apps.

hi.

Yup.. Thats what we thought. Just trying to see if there was another answer. One of the in-house software applications will not operate on any of the new OS versions or newer Mac Minis above what we talked about.

Another is used for music production on a live stage format and is in the same boat. I am sure that my use of terminology is the cause of any misunderstandings.

Safari is also asking us to upgrade, but the wireless apps won't run either, again, because the the companies don't support the new OS configurations, and we have two iPads that were upgraded and will not operate the older apps. We can't afford to lose operational capability because there doesn't seem to be anything else out there that will meet our specific needs.

Thanks for your info.
