Spoken directions and the chime to alert to text message have gone on low volume. Since the iOS update 16.4 I can’t find how to change this. Altering the volume on the phone or in the car doesn’t work. It’s happened previously but the driving and navigation setting where you could pick normal or high volume has disappeared! Please help

Let's make sure that you're changing the iPhone volume rather than the ringer and alert volumes. Check the steps below:
Lock the ringer and alert volumes in Settings
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (on other iPhone models).
3. Turn off Change with Buttons.
Adjust the volume in Control Center
When iPhone is locked or when you’re using an app, you can adjust the volume in Control Center.
Open Control Center, then drag.

The volume is fine on everything else, even when Siri ask you, “if this is the location you want to go to”. It only doesn’t work when giving directions or when notifications are coming in. Basically Siri volume is only too low in certain areas of the maps app. Works fine for everything else.
