See iPad playlists when connected to my macbook
When I connect my iPad 9 to my MacBook Air M2, how can I see the iPad playlists in the MacBook Music App?
The old iTunes had this facility.
I only sync my music manually.

Music & Finder in Catalina and later are much less suited to manual management than iTunes before them. It can be done, but you cannot manipulate playlists, or play content directly from the device, and locating content to remove is tricky. Syncing with selected playlists is a better approach.
If there is media or playlists on the device that isn't in your library see Recover your iTunes/Music library from your iPod or iOS device - Apple Community.

If you're determined to stick with what you know search for "Retroactive iTunes".

Ok thanks for that, it’s kind of what I suspected/feared. There’s no technical issue, I just want to manually manage what goes on my devices.
After paying Apple’s premium prices for what should be a premium product, it’s galling to find reduced functionality.
I’ll see if I can find a 3rd party app. Thank you for clarifying.
Yes, I prefer to choose my own way of working.
Thanks for your help.
You're welcome. 🙂
