I use screen mirroring to TV to teach. How can I add audio as I’m demonstrating?

I use a table top iPhone holder and light to screen mirror what I’m painting to a Smart Samsung TV so the 20 students in the room can follow along with me. I don’t want to record the class, just project it. This works perfectly, but how can I add sound? I want to be able to have what I’m saying come out through the TV or some other speaker system. Help?

Hello Jubileeclass,

Screen mirroring doesn't have any sort of option like that. When you screen mirror, it will play whatever sound is attached to the video through the speakers on the TV. For example if you're watching something like a movie on the phone, if you screen mirror it the audio will come out of the TV.

Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone or iPad

If you're just screen mirroring you using an application that has no sound, there will be no sound. Screen Mirroring doesn't have any sort of capability that will allow you to activate the microphone on the phone and then have that live audio sent to a TV. If this is something you would like to see added to the screen mirroring functionality, you can make that suggestion to Apple through their feedback site: Product Feedback

Cheers!
