MacBook closed lid status

How can I set the default for MacBook Pro laptop so that it remains on and accessible remotely when the lid is closed?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.2

Hi!

You should check System Settings/Preferences -> Battery (or Power section) -> Schedule. Mac will turn on according to time that was set up, even with closed lid.

To enable autologin, you'll need to disable FileVault, as well as enable Automatic login, reachable here:

System Settings/Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Login Options (or small button similar to the one) -> Automatic login -> select your account.

And through Sharing preferences (or Login Items) you can setup preferred connection type

Thank you for the reply! I wasn't sure how to make that timer setup work, for one there's not really a particular time I need the macbook to be awake with the lid closed. There could be any time where I'd like to access the macbook from my iphone or ipad. I found an app called Amphetamine (😳) and it will let me choose a setting which will keep the macbook awake indefinitely, or until I discontinue. But I'm wondering if that is a good idea? Could that be bad for the machine? Increase wear and tear on components?

I have a remote desktop application allowing me to access the macbook from my ios devices, but when the lid is closed and macbook is asleep it can't connect. Is there some way to remotely wake up the macbook? Rather than using Amphetamine and keeping it awake 24/7???
