MacBook Air M1 2020 using with Dell WDS19

Hi,

I got MBA recently and started to use it with Dell dock WDS19. Is it safe to use it regarding the charging?

The thing is that I use additional monitor via dock and I keeping using the MBA even after it charges to 100% (optimised battery charging ON but it goes fast to 100%). If I can unplug it, but then I cannot keep using my additional monitor.

I am worried a little bit that dock will harm battery this way. Any way to stop charging on 80% or so?

Any suggestion how this should work in proper way?

Kind regards,

Aleksandar

Greetings algo92,

To get the best performance when charging your Mac, it's best to use the Apple brand charger that came with your Mac. We have additional information here: Charge your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro

If you have concerns about your Dell dock, it'd be best to reach out to Dell directly. They will be in the best position to support you. Support | Dell US
