Apple Maps

What is the significance of the different colors used on non-traffic maps? Why is there no legend or key? Do they signify, for example, national park, forestry, incorporated, or Reservation land? Is this geographic information otherwise available in Apple Maps?

What does dark red and black road colors mean on Apple Maps? I am familiar with the yellow, red and (formerly) green traffic indicators, but just today, I’ve seen a dark grey/black shaded road and a dark red colored road. I’m assuming these are somehow worse traffic than bright red - even though that normally is equivalent to a standstill - but I can’t find any record of these traffic colors does anyone know what they mean?

Please check country-specific features on Apple Maps. Everthing is not available in all countries.
