Has apple found a way I can protect my car without alerting the thief

why has there not been a way to set up the AirTags initially to remain undetected by others to protect my child or my car settings that include the registered device and know locations schedule. Where the registered device has to say scan the AirTag before it leaves you and must be scanned again within set time frames to keep it from being detected by people out to conduct malicious acts against my family or property. It would be hard for a bad actor to do this to keep the AirTag undetectable. How can I protect my child or my vehicle if the malicious person is notified it is there and they can then disable or remove it? Keeping our property and family safe should be easy and using it maliciously should be hard. Something like not scanning it directly within time frame would disable the ability to silence notifications to others for say 24 hours or something. But marking the person or item missing should extend the window Briefly to allow police to be notified and have the chance to locate it before the malicious person is alerted the tracker is there. I just feel this items purpose is defeated by lack of thought into security features for the user as well.

As pointed out above, AirTags are not anti-theft devices.

They are meant to help you keep track of personal items such as keys, tv remotes.

They are not designed, sold or marketed as anti-theft devices, pet trackers, etc.

The alerts on phones and the AirTag beeping are all anti-stalking measures.

Apple is never going to disable that.

Let's get one thing straight. AirTags were NEVER designed or intended to be used in the manner you seem to think. They are NOT for deterrence, protection, malicious actors, keeping your family safe, tracking individuals, or anything else. AirTags were designed to locate items they are attached to, THAT'S ALL! That some people are trying to use them for purposes other than for what they were designed for is irrelevant.

So no, those features should not ever be added or even considered in my opinion. Use AirTags for what they were designed for, not what you think they are for.
