Notes App: Synchronization across Apple devices take days

I have a macMini, iPhone13proMax and macBookPro and I find that the Notes App no longer sync the contents in a timely manner across my devices since the last 2 OS updates. Actually, it felt like it is increasingly more tardy in its synchronization than ever.

It will eventually sync up but it may take a couple of days. In the past, I can make a change on my iPhone and open up my MacBookPro and it will show up almost instantly but not anymore.

Is anyone out there experiencing this issue?

Any solution?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

The time it takes to sync notes between Apple devices via iCloud can vary depending on several factors, such as the size of the notes, the internet connection speed, and the overall performance of the devices.

In general, syncing notes via iCloud is usually fast and happens almost instantly when both devices are connected to the internet. However, if there is a poor or unstable internet connection, the sync process may take longer, or it may fail altogether.

Additionally, if you have a large number of notes or very large notes with attachments, the sync process may take longer to complete. It's also worth noting that if you have a lot of notes and you make changes to several of them at once, the syncing process may take longer to complete as well.

Thank you, for the response.

As for the Internet connection, I do not think I am having this issue as I'm on a Gigabit internet connection.

As for the size of my Notes App contents, I do have around 541 Notes documents. But, I'm talking about editing one single text-based document. That should not be too much to see the changes in other devices, would it?

I wouldn't think so, but unlike you, I don't have nearly as many notes so I can't verify that syncing to be an issue for me. I also only have a 40 Mbps DSL Internet connection. Regardless, most notes sync relatively quickly, yet I have to admit, some take a longer period of time ... but, so far, within hours, not days for me.

Yes, there is an option to sync notes on demand in macOS. Try the following:

  1. Open the Notes app on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Notes" in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  3. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the "General" tab.
  5. Under "Default Account," select the account you want to sync with (iCloud, Gmail, etc.).
  6. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  7. Check the box next to "Enable the account."
  8. Click on "Synchronize Now" to manually sync your notes.

After completing these steps, your notes will be synced with your selected account whenever you click on "Synchronize Now."
