Lost phone in lake, can icloud back up on new phone?

If you had the phone set up for automatic backups to iCloud, the most recent backup occurred the day before you lost the phone.


See the last section in the Apple Support document linked below.....Find and manage backups stored in iCloud.....to see how to use a Mac to access the backups stored in iCloud.

Whoops!


Sync Through iCloud:

If you no longer have the iPhone, you'll have to sync through iCloud. Items will be accessible between the two.


As an Example...


Accessing Photos:

I. On an iPhone:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Your Name (Top Item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Photos
  5. Enable: iCloud Photos


II. On a Mac:

Access from iCloud, Manually:

  1. Go To: icloud.com
  2. Select: Photos
  3. Download: the Photos
