is Belking HDMI cable 8K or 4K?

Just purchased the Belkin HDMI cable that says 8K but noticed on the box it says 4K compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR. What did I get 4K or 8K.

The important property to look for with HDMI cables is their bandwidth rating. There are currently 4 tiers on the market:

  • The highest tier is rated for 48 Gbps, with support for all the HDMI 2.1 features, including up to 10K in resolution.
  • The next tier is rated for 18 Gbps, with support for all the HDMI 2.0 features, including 4K HDR.
  • The third tier is rated for 10 Gbps, with support for all the HDMI 1.3–1.4 features, mostly used for 1080p HD.
  • The oldest standard is rated for 5 Gbps, with support for all of the HDMI 1.0–1.2 features, mostly used for 1080p HD.

If the cable and package says 48 Gbps, then this cable would support 8K (10K and lower): This cable is also compatible with 4K Dolby Vision/HDR. Both statements are true.

This is a user-to-user forum. You are not addressing the seller here. I haven’t seen the product or package of what you purchased and if it matches what you received. If you have questions about items that you purchased, contact the Store staff (see the “💬 Need some help? Contact us” link on the Store web page, or the contact information on your invoice) or contact the cable manufacturer (Belkin).
