Stay in Catalina or Upgrade?

MacBook Air 2020 Catalina 10.15.7. Running well with Catalina and not interested in changing it, but is there a security risk in not upgrading?

MacBook Air 11″, OS X 10.11

There is some security risk, primarily in that you cannot run the current version of Safari unless you have Big Sur, Monterey, or Ventura. You could avoid that risk (for awhile anyway) by running a 3rd party internet browser such as Chrome or Firefox that support running their current version with Catalina. There have been other security updates -- see: Apple security updates - Apple Support

Personally, I would recommend upgrading to the current Ventura. Your 2020 MacBook Air shouldn't have any issues with that. If you decide to upgrade, see: Upgrade to macOS Ventura - Official Apple Support
