Astronomy (Earth) Wallpaper Day Night Transition

For me it is the fact that lockscreen will update, and In that sense darken the globe and show city lights but then as I unlock it will go back to lighter image, like going back in time… realy annoying.

I noticed that both wallpapers with earth have the same issue and same simptoms.

Also, as dragoscscc said, if any one knows a good place to report this please be kind and leave a link…

if I am not mistaken it might take Apple month or two for a 16.4.1/16.5 update and that’s a long time to wait with such a annoying issue.

My home screen gets stuck at any given last image when it had updated last time, so if it had updated at 10:00 it will remain at that image. Lock screen will update normaly troughout the day.

To update I change the wallpaper and then return to Earth image.

All settings for Location are on and everything is allowed.

This is really annoying as it worked perfectly on 16.3.1 (on iPhone 14 pro),

any advice is helpfull.

This started happening to me on 16.4 as well. I don’t use location so it seems the Lock Screen has the correct terminator line but the Home Screen is just stuck on day. See gif below.

Temporary fix:

I have fixed it by changing the Home Screen to a different picture, applying that change and then edit again to pair the correct Earth Home Screen.

Try switching to moon from earth and then back. I know it all sounds silly, but the bottomline is apple has to fix this.

Same issue. Annoying. I also think since 16.4.

I know it's been a while but I'm on IOS 17.5.1 and have the same problem, the home screen wallpaper not updating continuously. Any fixes?

Just read that 16.4.1 will be out in a week or two, fingers crossed that it will fix this issue.

To be honest I still can’t understand that the whole thing worked for a good month, for me, and then just didn’t. Shame.

For me as well, I had hoped that this update will fix this issue, it is getting annoying to change the wallpaper every so often to avoid this ugly transition.

Thinking, is this reason enough to return the phone to Apple? Does anyone have any Experience?

Turning on Precise Location does not work. A few hours later, you'll find the issue is still present. It has nothing to do with location. Right now it's day time, and when I unlock the screen, the globe behind my apps initially has the right daylight, but then quickly reverts to night. It's not a location bug. The only quick fix is changing wallpapers and changing back, but of course you need to do this every few hours.

just updated to iOS 16.4.1 and the astronomy bug is still there....

apparently apple couldn't care less about these forums

I enabled ‘precise location’ as below and it worked for me.
