Good morning,
When using the astronomy wallpaper, the day/night transitions on the locked screen and background do not
match. I believe this started happening after upgrading, to iOS 16.4, but not certain.
Anybody else noticed this? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Top (locked screen) shows morning, bottom (background) shows evening, for 8:10 AM. The background screen doesn't update.

Just read that 16.4.1 will be out in a week or two, fingers crossed that it will fix this issue.
To be honest I still can’t understand that the whole thing worked for a good month, for me, and then just didn’t. Shame.
For me as well, I had hoped that this update will fix this issue, it is getting annoying to change the wallpaper every so often to avoid this ugly transition.
Thinking, is this reason enough to return the phone to Apple? Does anyone have any Experience?
Working for me as well, privacy/location set to astronomy/only when shared so I don’t have the green dot on the map. Think they tweaked the battery settings as well, doesn’t drain quite as fast as before.
Switching wallpapers back and forth didn’t work for me. Just resets it as before.
Same issue. Annoying. I also think since 16.4.
I know it's been a while but I'm on IOS 17.5.1 and have the same problem, the home screen wallpaper not updating continuously. Any fixes?
Turning on Precise Location does not work. A few hours later, you'll find the issue is still present. It has nothing to do with location. Right now it's day time, and when I unlock the screen, the globe behind my apps initially has the right daylight, but then quickly reverts to night. It's not a location bug. The only quick fix is changing wallpapers and changing back, but of course you need to do this every few hours.
