Driver for an Epson stylus photo 1400 printer that is compatible with OS 13.3

My Epson printer will no longer print via USB cable from my Mac running OS 13.3. I was working until the latest update. I've checked the accessory setting and it appears to be configured as it should be. Is there a solution or a workaround? EPSON says it's waiting on Apple to be able to deliver a new driver. I'm not looking to AirPrint, just using the cable.

When I send a PDF to print, the printer icon opens in my doc, but immediately closes and nothing is queued to print.

Yes, but EPSON is waiting on something from Apple to create the driver, or so they say.

They will be waiting a long time. Epson knows how it works. Apple releases MacOS update info to third party manufacturers. Third party manufacturers use this info to create drivers for their equipment. If the third party manufacturer no longer wants to support their old equipment they do not create updated drivers to work with the new technology operating system. This forces the owners of their old equipment, like you and your old Epson, to purchase new third party hardware. Apple can not and does not create drivers for old third party hardware.
