Why do videos come to my messages very small in size
When I receive a video in my messages app it is very tiny, too small for me to make out what’s in it.

Hi iPhone-gramma,
If it was created on any type of networks, such as a cellular or other Internet service provider of the Wi-Fi, and the signal was not strong, then it may affect the quality.
There are a couple of things that we can try. The first if you are near her, she can AirDrop that to you. AirDrop would allow you to receive a larger file than Messages may be able to handle: How to use AirDrop on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Another method is to try Mail Drop: Mail Drop limits - Apple Support
Either of these may help you get a higher quality video. Can you see if this helps?
Cheers!
Hi iPhone-gramma,
It's possible the person who sent the videos created the video in low quality. It may also depend on which network the person who sent the video is connected to.
We have additional information about sending videos with iMessages here: Send photos and videos in Messages on iPhone - Apple Support
Take care.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the statement: which network?? Are you referring to Comcast, CenturyLink?? or are you referring to messenger or messages. She uploaded the video to me through the messages app on my iPhone 14 pro max, from her iPhone 14 pro, she also uploaded the same video to Facebook. In Facebook it was nice and large and of good quality, but through the messages app it is so small I can't even make out what's in the video. The video is approximately 1/4-inch x 1/2-inch in the messages app.
