Using Facebook on Apple Mini iPad6

I am able to use all functions of Facebook quite normally except when I wish to view the videos via the WATCH option. I am not getting a full screen, the picture appears to have moved to the left so that on my Mini iPad6 I have a clear strip down the right hand side, Please see the attached screenshot.

I have tried restating the iPad, I have deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled it from the App Store neither action made any difference. Please HELP.

I look forward to hearing from you, I cannot find any help via the Facebook Help Centre nor can I locate a email contact address.

iPad mini 6, iPadOS 16

Try to use Safari to access the content instead of the app. (Or another browser of your choice)

Facebook’s app has been a buggy mess for years, and unfortunately for your situation, issues with apps are the developers’ issues to fix, not apple’s. (Given FB’s response time, finding a work around - such as using a browser - may be more expedient than waiting for them to get around to fixing their coding issue)

You can absolutely log into Facebook using Safari. As the app is such a mess, it's the only way I ever log into FB from my iPhone or iPad (on the very rare occasions I'm forced to do so).

Idris is correct. I only access FB via safari. You’re basically accessing it like someone one on a computer.

As to accessing help, poke around in the settings. As far as I know there is not any sort of live support….you fill out a feedback form and that’s usually it. I’ve never received a response to any of my feedback - hence why I just go for workarounds.

Issues with apps need to be resolved by the app developer. Apple will not get involved (unless it’s something really really bad, like a fraudulent app)

Stranger and weird, just logged into Facebook on my iPad using another id and password and clicking on Watch, lo and behold videos in full screen, which I take means my login is faulty in some way, how can that effect Facebook? Any suggestions please.

Are you saying you used a different FB log in and it works? Well, then use that one.

My only other suggestion, which I doubt will be useful, is to stop using Facebook. In my opinion, it's not worth the cost.

Many thanks for your reply which I found helpful but the content is supplied by Facebook so unlikely I could not find it elsewhere using Safari or YouTube etc, it is the random nature of the videos I like.

I expect your comment on Facebook is very accurate but I need to persist to try and get an answer, do you have details of any email address for Customer Support at Facebook please?

Thanks I’ll keep an eye on usage. I’ve just deleted Facebook from my iPad powered off, left it 20 minutes rebooted the iPad and downloaded Facebook from the App Store, no change still part screen. I had asked the same question of Which Technical as being a member, they don’t deal with Facebook software and said as I had followed correct course of action it is most likely the iPad and to contact Apple. Still makes no sense to me!

The Facebook login I used is not mine just one I knew (deceased) I could use to see if the same fault occurred , it didn't, so it must be something to do will my ID or Password neither of which has changed, I obviously can't continue to use the other account, still thanks for your responses I'll look to see if there is a similar Facebook Community.
