Siri photo

On my new iPhone 14 Pro, can I ask Siri to actually take a photo. When I ask, it just opens the camera app and I have to tap on the shutter. There are situations where I want to do it hands off. Thanks in advance.

Hi there Wally660,

The best way to take a photo without tapping the Shutter button or volume button of your device would be to use the timer. This information from Use iPhone camera tools to set up your shot shows how to do this:

Use the timer
You can set a timer on your iPhone camera to give yourself time to get in the shot.
To set a timer, open Camera, then do one of the following:
* On iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and later: Tap the Camera Controls button, tap the Timer button, choose 3s or 10s, then tap the Shutter button to start the timer.
* On iPhone X and earlier: Tap the Timer button, choose 3s or 10s, then tap the Shutter button to start the timer.

If you would like to use Siri or something else to take a hands-free photo, then we would encourage you to submit your feedback about this here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Take care!
