Why is Desktop & Documents in iCloud

2022 MacBook Air with M2 chip does not allow me to remove D & D from iCloud. Trying to use MS OneDrive to back up a portion of my files but OneDrive keeps getting the message that iCloud is backing up D&D. Even tho, there are no physical files D&D.

I am not finding a lot of help on the new M2 chip. Appreicate any advise!

Turn off desktop and documents if you no longer wish to sync using iCloud. System settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive
