after IOS 16.2 for iPhone: Timestamps are not being deleted for Manually deleted messages.

Since i updated my phone from 16.2, I have noticed that message conversations now keep the time stamp of the deleted messages even after I permanently delete them manually. This was not the case on previous iOS 16 version nor is it the case on current iPad iOS version. Any thoughts… and just would like this fixed back to appropriate time stamp of last non deleted message in a given message conversation.

To reiterate, the respective timestamps for individual messages, are not being deleted when the message is deleted manually. This causes that conversation to remain at the top of the message list, when in fact it should move down below other conversations with more recent timestamps !

Another update as of today and still nothing is fixed! Apple engineers are a joke! This is the 2nd time they’ve done this with updates. It happened in iOS 8 if I remember it took till iOS 12 to get it fixed! They aren’t listening and it’s frustrating cause we the users never suggested the change in the first place! I hope someone gets a clue and fixes it soon!

I thought I was losing my mind over the past several months. I’m glad I googled this to see it’s an issue that needs to be fixed.

It is very triggering to see my ex’s contacts name at the top of messages after I delete it. I don’t want to delete the whole thread, just some to have the name not show up in my face!!!!

WTH!!!!

Apple?!?! We pay too much for your phones to deal with this issue

Fix it!!!

The only way to get things like this fixed it to submit feedback to apple. Engineers don't read these forums, you must fill out the FORM here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Timestamps for manually deleted messages are STILL NOT being deleted, which causes the

conversations to remain out of their correct chronological order...

Again, fill this out: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Has anyone found any other way to delete timestamp? What about restarting?

Tell me Apple has gone down hill since Steve Jobs passed without telling me. A billion dollar company and over a year has passed but no progress. Please make it so when you delete a message, it removes the reaction from the deleted message. I’m sure you have. blood on your hands from abusive/toxic relationships but I’m sure you don’t care. Is it that hard to find someone who can fix this issue?

Hey guess what?! Another update to 17.4 and nothing new with messaging, like the presidential administration we have at present nothing gets done right and seems to screw all of us cause some idiot that pushes pencils and input 0’s and 1’s can’t seem to fix what wasn’t broken in the 1st place! This is getting ridiculous! C’mon Apple get it together, put one in for the big win, get a notepad and pencil, get involved with what your customers want!

Still nothing has changed! Apple engineers and whoever monitors this have trouble breathing apparently, cause their heads are stuffed where the sun doesn’t shine and don’t seem to want to listen to their customers. There’s a reason the saying if it isn’t broken don’t fix it was coined and this only exemplifies that! Fix the issue make people happy keep customers, simple…
