voice control question

Latest update from apple screwed up my phone/headset interface. Always worked before with this phone and headset. Now when I try to call it says no match found.

I'm a truck driver and need this to work, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Todd Kampmeier,

Thanks for sharing the additional details. If you're unable to connect with a Bluetooth accessory, you can start here: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone or iPad

If it still won't connect but it is showing up in your Bluetooth device history, try unpairing and re-pairing it with the phone. Just go to Settings > Bluetooth, select the Info button next to the device name and choose Forget This Device. After it's unpaired, put the device into pairing mode then pair it up with the phone again.

Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad

Cheers!

Thank you for the reply Todd Kampmeier!

To help us isolate the issue, are you able to test to see if this occurs with a different headset? If you do not personally own another headset, see if you can borrow one for testing purposes. If the issue only occurs with your headset, there might be an issue with the headset itself. If that is the case, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of that headset. If the issue occurs with all headsets, please contact Apple directly to investigate:

Hi Todd Kampmeier,

Thanks for posting here in Apple Support Communities. It appears that you're having some issue with CarPlay after updating your device. We can definitely have you try some troubleshooting steps including forgetting this car and setting up CarPlay again. The following article will walk you through this: If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support

Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps—checking CarPlay after each step:
1. Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:
* If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
* If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone under Settings > Bluetooth. Then go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on.
2. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display and select it.
3. Restart your iPhone and your car.
4. Make sure that Siri is on.
5. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
6. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
7. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

If we've misunderstood the issue, please provide some details regarding devices being used and where you're seeing the error message. This will help the community with replying to the issue.

Kind regards.

Sorry, I'm obviously not being clear...Lets start over and I'll see if I can do better.

3rd year with the phone and headset, it's an apple 10XR and a Parrot headset that I use to call/talk while I'm driving and working. It all worked properly through last October when we quit running the semi. (semi is only used for seasonal work)

In March I went out on a run and the headset is still paired up from last October, works fine in every aspect except I can't make a call by telling it to. If I go to my recent calls and touch one it makes the call and I can talk on the headset just fine.

If I want to make a call, I touch the button on the headset, it dings, I say "call - insert name here" and after a few seconds it says "No match found" It doesn't make any difference who I'm trying to call, it's like it cant find my contacts, yet if I touch a previous call in my recent call list it calls and the name comes up on the screen. If someone calls me it comes up on the screen and I can answer it just fine so it recognizes the numbers and names from my phone book. It just plays ignorant when I try to use my voice to dial through the headset.

I have done the forget this device, master reset the headset, re-paired them several times, always the same result, cant use my voice to initiate a call through my headset.

Like I said, since last October it was still paired up when I went to use it in march, the only thing that has changed is apple's updates they push into the phone.

I'm sure its just a setting that got changed during one of the pushes, I'm just too stupid to figure it out.

I sure hope this makes sense

The only thing I can find is in my accessibility menu my voice control is shut off.

Thanks again for attempting to assist.
