When I attempt to add my music playlist from my Mac to my iPhone, the system adds extra albums which are not in the playlist. Twice I have completely wiped the playlist from my iPhone and from my Mac music and recreated the playlist. When I attempt to add the playlist to my phone it still adds extra albums. It enlarges the playlist from 5K+ songs to 8K+ songs which is a sizable chunk. How can I stop this?

We understand that additional music is being added to your playlists. It sounds like you may have a Smart playlists that creates a specific playlists with specific music. This can be edited to add additional music, but music that fits the criteria will automatically be added. To avoid this, create a Playlist, not a Smart Playlist, that will allow you to add your music.
