How to get gmail drafts from my iPhone Mail to my iMac?

Draft folder of Gmail website on desktop Chrome did not synch with iPhone draft folder or desktop Mail app 3/23/23 to 4/3/23

How do I get the drafts for that period to synch from my iPhone Mail app to the Google website?

I'm running Venture on my Mac

In Chrome, at mail.google.com, Settings shows Drafts as a label with a checkmark for "Show in IMAP" -- that's where I am missing drafts.

I don't generally use the Mail app on my desktop but turned it on because of the difference in number of drafts between the website and my iPhone. I see Settings in the menu but not Preferences. I see no settings specific to the Drafts folder.

On my iPhone, I see no special settings for Drafts.

I'm not sure what you're looking for.

I believe I responded on my desktop. But the path to my drafts folder on the desktop in Chrome is mail.google.com/u/0/#drafts

I made no changes to Gmail on its website on March 23, yet the next seven days of drafts show up on my iPhone but not the website. The Mail App on the desktop is a red herring which is only notable in showing roughly the same number of drafts as the iPhone.

Can we ignore the Mail app please? I access the Gmail website in the Chrome browser. If you use the URL to google.com, you don't wind up at Gmail. You need a URL that references Gmail. If you then look at folders inside Gmail's website on the Chrome browser, your URL will contain a reference to both Gmail and the specific folder -- and that's exactly what the URL I provided does.

Also, I am asking specifically about Gmail, not iCloud which behaves quite differently. I thank you for your screen shot but it doesn't help me with Gmail's website viewed in a browser.

PS I've gone into the Mail app on my Mac using Ventura and don't get to this screen anywhere. I also don't get this screen on my iPhone running iOS 16.4, Settings, Mail, Accounts whether I look at iCloud (which I don't use) or Gmail (which I do look at using the Mail App but have no problem with on my iPhone.

My problem is with viewing Gmail in a browser on my desktop. It doesn't show all of the drafts that are visible elsewhere.

If I open Gmail in Safari on my iPhone, the URL at the top remains mail.google.com even if I move to the Drafts folder. Annoyingly it has half of the drafts for that period that show in Gmail in the Mail app on my iPhone while the Gmail accessed thru the browser on my desktop shows 0% of the drafts for that period. I am clueless. I thought it would fix itself by rebooting and thereby rebooting into the Gmail website but NO

Bottom line is that most of the drafts saved in the Mail app on my iPhone simply never got to Gmail’s website. That bothers me because I don’t know when it could happen again.

I use the drafts folder a LOT because that’s where I save items that I might post on my blog. Thank you for trying to pin down the moving parts.

This is quite curious, I could come up with other possibilities if using the Mail App, but sorta groping around with this unique scenario, especially with no iDevices.

If you use the url ttps://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#drafts on the phone, does it revert to mail.google.com shown?

PS, I just used the uCloud pic because I ad one already, gMail, AOL, all my other ones are the same basic display.

I really appreciate you making a stab. I’m usually pretty decent at software but these results make absolutely no sense. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to pick the most “clean”version and copy it to the other locations but I think that leads to disaster. FWIW, I have friends who have also been erratic activity with Gmail in the past 7-10 days. As an original user of Gmail from 2004, I have never seen this before. Sometimes the safest course to walk away very very slowly. Again, thank you for your interest and efforts.

No. I did try that early on. Many of the items added to my draft folder are from saving stories from my Apple News+ and other news feeds. Ordinarily they just show up as unsent emails that I can search later for my blog. What I’ve just done now is spend the time to go into the drafts I want that are only on my iPhone, editing slightly, saving. I’m now going to walk across the room and see if they show up on my desktop. Wish me luck.

YES!! They're in the desktop Drafts folder now. There was a glitch somewhere for that week or so but new drafts are appearing. This is totally odd. The number of drafts are different between the Gmail website thru Chrome on my Mac, the Mail app on my iPhone, and the Mail app on my Mac (which is generally closed) but I'm grateful for a "hit it with a bigger hammer" solution. If it happens again, I'll need to do something trickier.

One more bit of feedback. Apple's Mail app on the iPhone has better features and a better look than the Gmail iPhone app but using Gmail thru a browser on the desktop allows me to send emails to groups and customize features better than Apple's Mail app on the Mac. Also Apple's Mail app on the Mac reminds me too much of AOL (and Prodigy even earlier) in looks and customization. Thank you again for your time. Was great to have someone to chat with about this idiotic glitch.
