Non-English Keyboard Fail
Bought an Apple Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad, Portuguese layout, and it will not type the Portuguese characters. What am I missing? Do I have to manually remap each of the characters? Did I just waste $200?

What do you have on your list in system settings / keyboard / input sources? You should have just one item, called "Portuguese", for the keys to match the output. The keys outlined in orange are for making accented characters -- you type them first and then the base letter: ~ then o for õ for example.
