can you create a macbook air m2 disk image

I'm a new Mac user/owner. Is there a way to make a disk image of the Macbook Air M2 onto a SSD external drive?

MacBook Air, macOS 13.3

Hi there!

Regrettably, no. That can't be done.

From Create a disk image using Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support,

Note: You can’t create images of individual APFS volumes. You can’t create images of APFS containers on Mac computers with Apple silicon or an Apple T2 Security Chip.

To make a backup of your Mac, use Time Machine.
