Why Apple Mail forces gmail messages to be sent through iCloud?

I get an email on my gmail account. I enter my reply - it is saved as a draft, as usual, since 5 years I am using this account with Apple Mail.

Out of a sudden today Apple Mail started to save my drafts in iCloud... WTF?

This is an issue, because when I try to send it, iCloud tells me it can't use gmail SMTP server and can't send it. Does it have to be so complicated? I found the solution - it is to turn off iCloud email account - is Apple prohibiting me from using gmail with their buggy app...?

Check Mail's Accounts/Servers settings pane for your Gmail account and make sure it's set to the Gmail servers. I had occasion to check my Gmail account a couple of days ago and found it was set to use the iCloud servers. Don't know why so I set it back to Gmail.

Thanks for trying to help. In my case there is right server chosen.

It's interesting why Apple changes your settings when you don't look? They want to spoil things for the users so that they use only their own buggy software? This must be their 'magic'.

Interestingly I have the same settings on two computers and only one is affected. They don't even know what their crap is doing...

I think you are reasonable guy, for sure more reasonable than me (seriously!), because I just can't understand this and this is extremely frustrating. I don't care if this is intentional or not - they just can't make work the things they market within their own ecosystem! Maybe they should start doing some farming work or digging ditches if their can't make bloody things work.

Today I tried to use two features and I failed, so maybe this is not common, because usually I have one problem a day. Today I tried to listen to Podcast with second pair of AirPods and... they just disconnect for no reason after a minute. Tried multiple times with the same result. All devices no more than two meters around. It worked. It stopped working. Try digging ditches with a shovel if you (Apple) can't make the things working that you market, because there are some ppl out there who have seen the functionality being marketed, they paid for this specific hardware to be able to be using those features. We are just being overpromised and underdelivered but we pay the full price.

OK.

So now please tell me - does it make sense? Who thinks that this is right to change user setting without notifying him? I think this is just Apple Mess product. Many times I was asked by the support (I have 14 Apple devices so I am calling support weekly, because those product really suck in cooperation) to turn setting off and then on again. So why do we even have those settings? Why do I see some setting turned on in my System Settings while it is actually off, and then turning this off and on again resolves the issue? I really can't find any understanding for the stupidity of that solution, sorry...

So what I did, I deleted ALL my mail accounts from Internet Accounts. Restarted. Added them again - it is like 15 minutes to add all of them including 2FA etc. And you know what? On one computer it works as it should and on the other, that it didn't work - it doesn't still work.

What a wonderful piece of s..t that I paid $1500 for. Thank you Apple for making crappy software. I need to call your support again and after 3 hourse MAYBE there will be some solution to this s....y magic. That's the biggest IT company in the world, yeah...

Nope. But what I heard from Apple Support representative is that I should monthly reset PRAM, NVRAM and SMC. Few call later another support representative told me not to. Also I heard that my internet might cause some issues, so I bought $400 router and changed the provider but the issues are still there. The only common thing among the Apple issues is the Apple software. So I think this is Apple bs to claim, that so-called optimizers break things. I am not using them anyway, but the things are broken on the day of release by Apple.

Another issue: using Music on Apple TV - why it out of the blue stops playing music after ~3 minutes? It used to work, and it suddenly stopped last week. I don't use optimizers, I didn't change any setting, the surrounding environment is the same - the problem lies with Apple software and should be resolved by Apple, not by addressing third-party software.
