Hi Claire,
You're very welcome.
Your Apple Watch may have an Activation Lock to your previous iCloud account. In this case, you'll either need to recover access to the account or ask Apple to remove the lock for you.
When you regain access to the iCloud account, you can use these steps to turn off Activation Lock on the web:
1. Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
2. From the Quick Access Menu in the top right, select Find My. You might be required to sign in.
3. Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.
4. Click Erase Apple Watch. Select Next until the device is erased.
5. Click the remove buttonnext to your Apple Watch.

Hi there Jjones1503,
It sounds like you're unable to log into iCloud on your Apple Watch. To clarify further, do you not remember the Apple ID password to be able to log into iCloud? If that is correct, this article has steps to possibly reset that: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
If we've misunderstood the issue, please let us know more details and we'll do our best to help.
Take care.
Hi there Claire
Thankyou for that I have tried these steps before but unsure as to why it is trying to access a iCloud account I have never used on my watch before, even when resetting it it does not seem to want to connect to the iCloud I use
