Blue Box outline that interferes with typing

Anyone having this issue. Will not let me space. Happens with Pages, Quickbooks etc. when I space it jumps around to another line. This is on a Mac using Ventura

Make sure "Keyboard navigation" is disabled in System Settings > Keyboard.

Keyboard odd behaviour - blue focus box Lately my mac highlight a specific area of the screen or input field, it is marked with a blue marking around it. It happens in Safari and mail and other places too. When it happens I cannot use "Space" on the keyboard, if I need to type a "space" I can do that by pressing "OPTION+Space". Does anyone know how I can turn this feature off, or tell me why it acts this way now?

What is the blue box that shows up intermittently I have a MacBook Pro 16 in 2021 with Sonoma 14.4.1 chip M1 PRO. Occasional a blue box, rectangular, shows up in various places on the screen and creates chaos. I first notice it when I start typing and I can not get a space. All the words run together. It did just now. I tried to capture it but when I activate the screen shot the blue box goes away and everything's normal again. It may happen in apps other than Safari, but I don't remember that it did. What is it and how can I get rid of it please. Thanks Carl

Make sure "Keyboard navigation" is disabled in System Settings > Keyboard.

Also make sure Full Keyboard Access is turned off in accessibility settings.
