Why are there email addresses along with my phone number for sending and receiving text messages? I only want text messages going to and from my iphone. I do sync my macbook with my iphone and frequently send text messages from my macbook.

Your iMessage settings might be set to receive and start messages from your Apple ID instead of your phone number. This can be helpful if you use multiple devices or want to message using your email address instead of your phone number.
To manage this feature, open Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on your iPhone. From here, select only the phone number or email address that you would like to message with.
